When oil-free compression is most important: Emission-free, long-lasting and low-maintenance compressor units safely compress technical gases to the required test pressure level - without any oil contamination or gas loss.
Accessories
When accessories make the key difference: DILO supplies suitable couplings, hoses, storage vessels and filters, tailored to your arc quenching and insulating gas and to your system requirements – including pressure and vacuum-tight quick couplings (e.g. DN20) with leak rates of ≤ 10-⁸ mbar-l/s and digital weighing scales for safe storage vessels.

What is SF₆ and why is it used as an insulating gas?
Sulphur hexafluoride (SF₆) is a synthetic, highly stable gas with high dielectric strength and excellent arc-quenching properties. It is therefore primarily used in gas-insulated switchgear and circuit breakers. At the same time, SF₆ is a potent greenhouse gas with a global warming potential of 24,300 CO₂ equivalents over a 100-year period, in accordance with the EU F-Gas Regulation (EU) 2024/573. Both EU Regulation 2024/573 and the IEC 62271-4 and IEC 60480 standards set stringent requirements for handling, leak-tightness, analysis and reuse.
Why is professional gas handling essential, and how does DILO prevent emissions?
The greatest emission risks arise particularly during the recovery and filling of arc quenching and insulating gases such as SF6 during maintenance work. DILO eliminates these risks through gas-tight couplings, closed-loop recovery processes, vacuum technology and gravimetric filling volume control. This minimises emissions, documents processes and supports regulatory reporting obligations.
Which range of equipment covers which process step?
DILO covers all areas of SF6 gas handling as well as alternative insulating gases (C4-FN, CO₂/O₂, or CA). The portfolio includes, for each product line (type of insulating gas), all performance classes capable of fulfilling the following process steps: Evacuation of air and the processes of filling, recovery, purification, drying, storage, reconditioning and mixing of insulating and extinguishing gases. The portfolio ranges from portable refilling solutions and mobile service carts to bespoke systems, mixing systems, compressors, couplings, filters, hoses and storage tanks.
Does DILO also offer gas analysis and reclamation – in other words, more than just handling devices?
Yes, DILO operates as a full-service provider throughout the entire life cycle of the gas. The Gas Analysis & Detection division comprises precise measurement technology for moisture (dew point), purity and decomposition products. These are essential parameters for assessing gas quality in accordance with IEC 60480 and ensuring reusability. Mobile gas detection instruments and fixed leakage detection systems round off the portfolio. With DILO Certified Gas, used, contaminated SF₆ is also reclaimed in an environmentally friendly and professional manner, ensuring it achieves the purity required for reuse in accordance with international standards or OEM/user specifications. Furthermore, DILO Certified Gas offers a C4-FN gas separation process followed by a blending service.
This eliminates the need for disposal as waste. DILO thus provides initial filling, ongoing monitoring, maintenance and reconditioning all from a single source.
