Insulating gases such as 3M™ Novec™ 4710 (C4) and 3M™ Novec™ 5110 (C5), are often mixed with other components e.g. oxygen (O2), nitrogen (N2) or carbon dioxide (CO2) for use in gas-insulated equipment. These gas mixtures have an insulation potential similar to that of pure SF6 and are already considered a "green alternative" due to their lower greenhouse potential. For the different fields of application (GIS, GIL, etc.), mixtures with different mixing ratios specified by the plant manufacturers must be used.

As a part of our DILO Certified Gas range of services, we can also supply ready-prepared mixtures of Alternative Gases in liquid or gaseous form in accordance with your individual requirements - DILO quality certificate included. We provide you with gas mixtures based on C4 or C5 with nitrogen, oxygen or carbon dioxide, but we also supply other insulating gas mixtures - exactly in compliance with your specifications.

Therefore, it is not necessary to transport single gas components and to mix the gases on site, resulting in high accuracy of the required gas mixtures as well as time and cost savings and thus higher operating efficiency.

Our mixtures are produced gravimetrically. This means that the mixtures are weighed by weight and are thus directly traceable to the "molar” unit in the International System of Units. Regular calibration of the scales ensures consistently high accuracy of the mixtures produced. The gas mixtures for Alternative Gases are generally supplied in 50 l cylinders or in 600 l tanks.

Gas chromatographic and spectroscopic analyses of each gas mixture in our DILO Lab additionally ensure a consistently high level of quality.
