Football in Babenhausen – The 1st Ehrmann Cup
On Saturday, 5 July 2025, we, the DILO UNITED football team, had the opportunity to demonstrate our skills at the 1st Ehrmann Cup in the Fuggermarkt Stadium in Babenhausen.
Under the excellent leadership and organisation of Florian Egger and Sebastian Haupeltshofer, DILO UNITED confidently completed the group stage with a 3-0 victory over the Nagel Group in their opening match.
After some heated battles in the knockout phase, our team reached the climax of the tournament when the semi-final went to penalties after a 0-0 draw in regular time. Here, DILO UNITED lost a nerve-wracking duel against Spielvereinigung Herstellung 25 by a narrow 3-4 margin.
With this fantastic result, our team made it into the top four teams of the tournament, which is a great achievement considering that 22 teams were originally at the Start, some of which had even travelled from Bitburg or Potsdam especially for the event.
In the evening, the tournament came to a pleasant close in the old gym in Babenhausen with a joint dinner after the award ceremony.
