In the past, companies mainly pursued sales or profit targets, but today another goal has been added: avoiding CO2 emissions. This has become important from both an ecological and an economic perspective.

Not only do CO2 taxes and levies require us to actively address this issue, but so does our self-image as an environmentally conscious company. Our claim ONE VISION. ZERO EMISSIONS. makes this clear. Our customers are increasingly interested in our environmental protection measures, especially how we reduce or avoid CO2 emissions.

At DILO, we have set ourselves a clear goal.

  • Compared to 2020, we will reduce our CO2 emissions by 70 percent by 2030.
  • By 2040, we aim to achieve CO2 neutrality.
  • The first measures have already been implemented. Solar panels are in use on many of our buildings' roofs. By the end of 2023, a total of 560 kWp will have been installed.
  • The wood chip power plant is nearing completion. It will heat the front part of our company premises.
  • In future, the electricity from the PV systems will be converted into hydrogen by means of an electrolyser and stored in tanks. A fuel cell will generate electricity from the stored green hydrogen as required. This plant is also nearing completion.
